[ENG]Preview: ICS CXP-MARS PDW9
In 2020 ICS Airsoft will release new products and among all new products, I have a personal highlight – the ICS CXP-MARS PDW9.

The weapon is already available as a pre-order from some retailers. To shorten your waiting time, I have created a preview to give you an overview of the features. I can’t wait to hold the PDW9 in my hands for a detailed review.
The trend around pistol caliber carbine models has been going on for quite a while now. I think many people like the different look due to the thinner and longer 9 mm magazines compared to a classic M4. And because of the PDW style, the models are generally very compact and are therefore perfect for CQB games.
The development of the PDW9 took 3 years and the result looks just awesome! It will be available in black and urban grey:

Let’s take a closer look at all the features:
Externals
The combination of PDW stock, 9 mm mag, short M-LOK handguard, shadow suppressor and steep pistol grip give the PDW9 an awesome look. It weights about 2692 g, so you don't have to be a bodybuilder to carry it.

Bolt plate
Both color versions also bring in some bling bling with the bolt plate in rose gold. The bolt plate locks into place so that you can easily adjust the hop-up.

PDW stock
The PDW stock offers plenty of space for a battery and is compatible with other CXP stocks.

Pistol grip
The PDW9 comes with a steep pistol grip if you compare it to regular grips. ICS is calling it the “Ergo Technology” and it improves the handling if you carry the PDW9 in close environments. The grip will be also compatible with other AEG models if you like the ergonomic handling.

Handguard
The M-LOK handguard is made of CNC machined aluminum. It has a length of 6,5 inch and the “Komodo style” design with the interrupted rail at the top for a better grip of your hand. Because of the M-LOK design, you can easily add attachments like a foregrip.

Suppressor/Silencer
The 100 mm Shadow Barrel Extension Tube is installed, which you might know from the ICS BLE PM2. From what I have heard, it will come without the shadow cups.

Magazine
330 rds high cap and there will be also a 120 rds mid cap in the future.

Controls
The PDW9 could be used by right- and left-handed shooters. It has ambidextrous dual-magazine release, fire selector, bolt release and charging handle.
There are three options to release the mag for fast reloading.
Internals
With the internals, you get the well-known quality of ICS and usually you don’t need any upgrades.

Split gearbox
The PDW9 is equipped with an ICS MARS Version 2 gearbox. Due to the split gearbox design with the spring quick release system, it will be easy to adjust the power of the weapon to the field limit in seconds.

SSS.II Electronic Trigger System
ICS installs the SSS Gen2 E-trigger system with a competition short stroke flat trigger. I really like the design of flat triggers and I’m a big fan of short stroke triggers for a faster response. Especially in CQB, fast reaction is important, and a short trigger travel saves important milliseconds when shooting.

Inner barrel
The inner barrel has a length of 160 mm and a diameter of 6.04.
Other internals
I'll briefly summarize the other internals. The real testing will show how they perform, so I don't want to comment on them now.
The cylinder and piston head are made of A6061 aluminum. The AEG is powered by an EVO 35.000 rpm motor.
